Whenever you want to take a break from competitive games, life sims have always been the perfect genre to relax with, and 2026 is packed with exciting new titles. I've been keeping an eye on farming sims, cozy town builders, and magic-filled adventures releasing this year, and my wishlist has never been this full. If you love the genre, here are 10 upcoming life sim games to look forward to in 2026.

1. Fields of Mistria (1.0)

  • Release Date: August 5th, 2026
  • Developer: NPC Studio
  • Publisher: NPC Studio
  • Platforms: PC (Steam, Steam Deck, SteamOS/Linux)

After a successful Early Access run, Fields of Mistria is finally hitting its full 1.0 release. You rebuild a village that got wrecked by an earthquake, all while digging into the strange magic seeping through the land.

The core loop still has farming, fishing, and mining, but the magic system lets you automate some of the daily grind once you level up. There are over 30 NPCs to meet, and 12 of them you can date and marry. With marriage and family features finally added at launch, this is easily the farming sim to watch this year.

2. Petit Planet

  • Release Date: TBA 2026
  • Developer: HoYoverse (miHoYo)
  • Publisher: HoYoverse
  • Platforms: PC, iOS, Android

Petit Planet has you growing your own little planet and slowly linking it up with others to build a whole galaxy. As you bond with the fuzzy Neighbors who visit, a spirit named Luca reshapes your world with new scenery and life.

Daily activities include planting, fishing, beachcombing, mining, cooking, and crafting. It's giving me strong Animal Crossing vibes, just with a cosmic twist. Also, it looks so pretty. I can not wait for this one.

3. Witchbrook

  • Release Date: TBA 2026
  • Developer: Chucklefish and Robotality
  • Publisher: Chucklefish
  • Platforms: PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox

Witchbrook has been on my radar for years, and it's finally close to release. You enroll in a college to study spells, wander around the town of Mossport, and build friendships with the locals while chasing adventure. You will also need to find a job since you have to pay for college and support your witch coven.

Potion brewing, broom riding, and even divination are among the subjects you can study. You will also have exams! Outside of class, the game is aiming for the kind of variety Stardew Valley fans love, just with a magical twist. This one is going to be worth every bit of waiting.

4. My Time at Evershine

  • Release Date: TBA 2026 (planned Spring 2026)
  • Developer: Pathea Games
  • Publisher: Pathea Games / PM Studios
  • Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2

If you played My Time at Sandrock and loved it, Evershine picks up right where that story left off in a brand-new setting. This time you play as a governor, so you're managing settlers and town resources at a much bigger scale than just your own workshop.

Pathea has also added gliding and creature taming as brand-new mechanics, giving the adventure side of things a real boost. It's everything Sandrock did well, just expanded and built on top of an already solid foundation.

5. Grave Seasons

  • Release Date: Fall 2026 (planned August 14, 2026)
  • Developer: Perfect Garbage
  • Publisher: Blumhouse Games
  • Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (Game Pass planned)

This is the odd one on the list, and I mean that in a good way. You play a farmer released from jail who moves to the island of Ashenridge, only for townsfolk to start turning up dead. Between planting crops and chopping wood, you might stumble on a body or a weapon.

Every choice affects how the story plays out, and yes, you can romance people in town, including the possible killer. It's a horror farming sim, which is not something I expected to say in 2026. Plus, I love the pixel art, too!

6. Doloc Town (1.0)

  • Release Date: August 6, 2026
  • Developer: RedSaw Games Studio
  • Publisher: Logoi Games
  • Platforms: PC (Steam)

Doloc Town takes place in a broken-down wasteland full of ruins and old machine parts. You survive storms and acid rain while using drones and gadgets to farm and even automate your crops. Beyond farming, there's combat hidden in the ruins and a mystery behind the world's collapse to uncover. The Early Access version already impressed a lot of players, and the 1.0 will wrap the main story up properly.

7. The Witch's Bakery

  • Release Date: October 14, 2026 (Digital); October 16, 2026 (Physical)
  • Developer: Sunny Lab
  • Publisher: Silver Lining Interactive
  • Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2

This one is giving me Ghibli's Kiki Delivery Service vibe, and I love it. You will play as Lunne, a witch running her own bakery in Paris. Days are split into three parts: baking in the shop, exploring the city, and decorating your home at night.

Some townsfolk are dealing with personal issues, and you can enter their "Heart Palace" to help them by baking the right magic bread. Plus, there will be puzzle mini-games that you need to solve to help the townsfolk. It's going to be awesome.

8. Go Go Town! (1.0)

  • Release Date: July 2026 (Available Now)
  • Developer: Prideful Sloth
  • Publisher: CULT Games and Prideful Sloth
  • Platforms: PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2

As the new mayor of a broken town, you lay down roads, build shops, and get people to move in and take jobs. You can also fully customize buildings inside and out. Play solo or team up with up to 4 friends in co-op to split the workload. It's colorful, relaxed, and has more management depth than most cozy games.

9. Danchi Days

  • Release Date: October 2026
  • Developer: Gingham Games
  • Publisher: Analgesic Productions
  • Platforms: PC and Mac (Steam)

Set in Japan, you follow Hoshino, who comes home after 12 years to care for her grandma. Her grandma wants the town's cancelled summer festival brought back, so you dig into old secrets to find out why it stopped. The pixel art has a real Game Boy-era feel, and there are plenty of minigames mixed into the story. You can even play the demo now.

10. Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea

  • Release Date: September 24, 2026
  • Developer: Natsume and IMAGICA GEEQ
  • Publisher: Natsume
  • Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam)

Ending this list with a classic, Teradea is a big world with villages, wild areas, and caves full of ore and gems. You'll set up camp to rest and cook, meet traveling merchants, and climb and jump your way to hidden spots. There are 10 romance options total, with five bachelors and five bachelorettes, plus animal companions with special abilities and livestock to raise. It's shaping up to be one of the biggest Harvest Moon games yet, and I can't wait for this one, too, since I am a huge fan of Harvest Moon.
