GTA 6 customization looks like it could be one of the biggest improvements coming to the next Grand Theft Auto game. Rockstar Games has always allowed players to change their characters and vehicles, but the information surrounding GTA 6 shows that customization may go much deeper this time. The new screenshots, extended look, interviews, and recent previews have given fans plenty to discuss.
Jason and Lucia Could Have Thousands of Outfit Combinations
One of the biggest parts of GTA 6 customization is expected to be clothing. Jason and Lucia have access to thousands of possible outfit combinations. Instead of every clothing store feeling the same, each shop is said to have its own clothing catalog.

So, one store could focus on casual streetwear, while another may offer more expensive or unique clothing. This would make shopping feel like an activity you can enjoy while exploring Vice City. Rockstar Games reportedly hired professional designers for GTA 6's clothing, which makes sense considering how much attention is being placed on Jason and Lucia's appearance.

GTA 6 Hairstyles Customization Is Very Detailed
Hair customization also appears to be getting a major upgrade. Each hair salon is expected to have its own hairstyles in addition to the more basic options.
Based on the 3-hour preview shared with content creators and streamers at Rockstar North, Jason's appearance could change in more detail through his beard and hair growth. Instead of simply selecting a beard from a menu, the game may allow more control over how his facial hair and hairstyle develop.

Lucia could also have more options than previous GTA protagonists. She might be able to even add hair extensions or completely change her hairstyle.
The other customization options include piercings, wigs, nails, nail polish, and makeup. Back then, GTA games only allow you to select clothes and getting a hairstlye. Now, Lucia's appearance could change dramatically depending on the choices you make.
Vehicle Customization in GTA 6
Cars have always been an important part of Grand Theft Auto, and GTA 6 could push vehicle customization further. The system is said to include customization and upgrades similar to racing games.
If Rockstar takes inspiration from racing games, you could create a vehicle for a specific purpose. A fast racing car may need different upgrades from a vehicle used for general driving around Vice City.

The information also mentioned different types of garages, including locations focused on street vehicles, racing vehicles, and general public vehicles. For example, a racing-focused garage could offer performance upgrades that make more sense for fast cars, while a street-focused location may have different cosmetic options.
More Flexibe Weapon Customization in GTA 6
Weapons may also receive more detailed customization. Instead of simply purchasing a weapon and adding one or two upgrades, GTA 6 might allow customization through individual components.

Possible customization options include camouflages, dyes, and engravings (this can also be seen from the previous screenshots revealed in Rockstar's Website). There may also be more equipment choices, such as scopes, silencers, magazines, and other weapon attachments.

For me, this could be one of the most underrated parts of GTA 6. Personally, I love fashion, so I always enjoy games that give me plenty of options to customize my character and create different looks. For people who love fashion and personal style just like me, this could be another reason to keep coming back to GTA 6 again and again.
Of course, there will be plenty of other reasons to keep playing, but having so many ways to change Jason and Lucia's appearance could definitely be one of the main ones for me. If Rockstar gives us enough freedom to experiment with different outfits, hairstyles, and even way more options for car customization, I can easily see myself continuing to play long after finishing the main story just to try new looks and enjoy everything Vice City has to offer.
GTA 6 is going to be released on November 19th, 2026, in PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. You can check out the countdown timer to check how many days is left until the game drops. And if you haven't pre-ordered the game, you should! We also have the GTA 6 Wiki for more information about the game.
