Are you proficient in a different language than your peers? If yes, then you can also change the language on the Instagram app to your preferred or native language.
Change Instagram App Language on Android
The Language option on Instagram app on Android changes the app settings and options to the user-selected language. It will not affect the content.
1. Open Instagram and go to your profile by tapping the profile icon at the bottom right.
2. Tap on the kebab menu icon and select Settings and privacy.
3. Scroll down and select Language.
4. Simply tap on the language to apply it on Instagram. We’ve selected Spanish here as an example.
5. Once you change Instagram’s language, you’ll be redirected to the home feed. You will observe that all the app’s options have been changed to the language selected, Spanish in our case. This change is prominent on the profile page as well as the kebab menu.
Note: Even after you change the language, the content, captions, and other user content, along with the settings and privacy page stays in your Android phone’s system language. Read more to learn how to change the system and individual language on Samsung Galaxy Phones.
Change Instagram App Language on iPhone
Steps to change Instagram’s language are a bit different on iPhone due to the privacy updates pushed in the latest iOS. You will need to add a new language to iPhone Settings before you can set it as your preferred language on Instagram.
1. To do this, open Settings and go to General.
2. Now navigate to Language & Region and tap on Add Language to add a new system language.
Tip: Set the preferred language for your iPhone to the language you want to use on iPhone. For example, we use our iPhone in the English language; hence, we’ve used English as our preferred language. If you want to use Instagram in Japanese, you will need to add that here first. You can use iPhone in one language and Instagram in another though.
3. Now scroll to the bottom of Settings to look for Instagram and tap on it. Then tap on Language.
4. Select the language you want to use on Instagram. We’ve changed the language to Japanese as an example.
5. Open Instagram on your iPhone, and you’ll observe that Instagram UI menu and other elements are in Japanese.
Follow the same steps if you ever want to revert back to the default or English language.
If you don’t want to be bothered by anybody during your rest hours, then you can use Quiet Mode on Instagram.
Pro Tip: You cannot use different languages for different accounts if you use them on the same phone. With reference to it, this is how can you add and switch multiple accounts on Instagram.
