The Sotoyama Region Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 6 gives you a photo clue and very little else to work with. Up north, one patch of snow looks a lot like the next one. Here is a complete Sotoyama Region Treasure Hunt guide for Forza Horizon 6, which includes the exact steps and the weekly rewards as well.

Forza Horizon 6 Sotoyama Region Treasure Hunt Guide

The Sotoyama Region Treasure Hunt is the newest weekly challenge in the Horizon Meets series Festival Playlist, after last week’s treasure chest in the Takashiro Region. Of course, as always, the clue remains the same each week: "Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!" However, finding the right spot can be tricky on such a large map. So you really need to open the map and compare the photo with the surrounding scenery to spot familiar landmarks you may have passed while racing.

How to Find the Sotoyama Region Treasure Chest Location

Sotoyama is the most northern region on the map, and the chest is in its far eastern corner. It sits by a big frozen lake, on the shore that runs from northeast to southwest. Here is the step-by-step route to reach the treasure chest location:

  1. Open the map and find Soni Circuit in Takashiro. It is an easy landmark to start from.
  2. Go straight north into Sotoyama until you see the large lake on your left. This is also close to the Hakusan Mountain Lodge player house. The lake is just north of it.
  3. Drive onto the eastern side of the lake and follow the shore.
  4. Smash into the chest to finish the hunt.

The lake is easy to spot on the map, which makes this one of the simpler hunts so far. The drive up is the longest part.

The Winter Series for Horizon Meets has two cars tied to point milestones: Clear 20 points and you get the 2004 Saleen S7, and hitting 40 points will get you the 1986 Audi #2 Audi Sport quattro S1. I would aim for the Audi first, since it is the harder car to earn. The chest gives you 3 points, and the weekly challenge gives you 5, so you still need other activities to reach 40.

Tips for Finding Treasure Hunt Chests Faster

A few things that have saved me time across these weekly hunts:

  • Use the map. The lake is easier to find there than by driving around in the snow.
  • Use fast travel. If the treasure chest is far from your current location, fast travel there instead of driving across the entire map.
  • Focus on the map, not the photo: This week’s clue doesn’t include clear landmarks like buildings, so searching by sight can waste time. Check the surrounding scenery to confirm the location.
