Halibut Harpoon is the newest Harpoon introduced in the version 1.97 update. It is a unique type of Harpoon gun that you can also use as a fishing rod. Obtaining it requires completing the Dr. Monty NPC quest, which involves solving riddles and catching specific types of fish. You must complete plenty of quests, which takes a lot of time. How to Find Dr. Monty for the Fisch Halibut Harpoon Quest
You can start the Fisch Halibut Harpoon quest by interacting with the Dr. Monty NPC. He dwells in his secret laboratory in the Outer Deep area of The Deep. It's situated on the northernmost side of the map, at coordinates 461, -2002, -13150.2. Here, you'll see blue houses and buildings, including a Beacon 1P-2 tower.
Enter the first dome-shaped house through the window. You'll enter a room with Dr. Monty pondering over a figure on the whiteboard. Approach him, and press "E" to interact. After you choose the dialogue prompt "Yes, a new rod to add to my collection!", he asks you three questions. You must answer all of them correctly to start the Fisch Halibut Harpoon quest.
Dr. Monty Riddles’ Answers to Start Halibut Harpoon Quest
If you fail to answer even one riddle correctly, you get wasted and must start from the set spawn point. Then, travel all the way to the Outer Deep and start from scratch. The second quest requires catching plenty of fish. Thankfully, you must catch only one type of fish: Pufferfish. The twist is that each Pufferfish must have a unique mutation.
