Fortnitemares 2026 Release Date and Collabs Leaked

It’s almost that time of year that Fortnite fans have been waiting for: Halloween! Fortnite v42.20 update confirmed that Fortnitemares 2026 is on its way, though an official start date hasn’t been announced yet. Leakers have filled in some of the gaps for now, so here’s everything we know so far about Fortnitemares 2026, including the confirmed and leaked collabs.

When Does Fortnitemares 2026 Start

Based on leaked update schedules, Fortnitemares 2026 will start on October 1st, 2026. This means this year’s Fortnitemares will begin right after Fortnite's 9th Birthday Celebration event on the same day. 

Since Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 doesn't end until November 1st, the event could run the whole month, with a second wave of content expected around October 15th.

Epic Games recently confirmed that Rocket Racing will be removed on October 1st. This further suggests that there will be a major update on that day, making it a likely date for the start of the Fortnitemares event.

Fortnitemares 2026 Leaked Collabs

One of the reasons players love this event is the collaborations. Last year’s Halloween event included Scooby-Doo, Poppy Playtime, Doja Cat, Jason Voorhees, and Ghostface as the featured collabs, and it was a huge success.

Prominent dataminer HYPEX revealed possible Fortnitemares 2026 collaborations, with one of the most hyped being Five Nights at Freddy’s. Other than FNAF, HYPEX also mentioned multiple other possible collabs:

Returning Weapons, Gear, and POIs

Several Halloween-themed weapons are expected to come back as Loot Hacks, items you can upgrade in your lobby using Sprite Dust before a match starts. 

Based on HYPEX leaks, expect the Chainsaw, Witch Broom, Wood Stake Shotgun, Dual Fiend Hunters, and Last Call (Ghostface's knife) to make a return.  Game files also hint at new Exotic items like a pumpkin-shaped rocket ride and a candy corn healing item, so there's a decent chance of a fresh set of weapons alongside the classics.
